20 Minute Chili

From Ontario Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500g) lean ground Ontario Pork or hot Italian Pork sausage, casing removed
  • 1-28 fl oz (796 mL) can diced tomatoes with Italian spices
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) chili powder
  • 1-19 oz. (540 mL) can kidney or black beans
  • 1½ cups frozen corn

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet to medium-high.
  2. Brown 1 lb (500g) lean ground Ontario Pork or hot Italian Pork sausage, casing removed. Cook until no pink remains.
  3. Stir in 1-28 fl oz (796 mL) can diced tomatoes with Italian spices.
  4. Stir in 3 tbsp (45 mL) chili powder.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in 1-19 oz. (540 mL) can kidney or black beans and 1½ cups frozen corn
  7. Simmer for another 5 minutes
  8. Serve with whole-wheat crusty rolls. Top with sour cream and grated cheese if desired.
